In the form of a miniature commode, the rectangular bevelled glazed top opening to a velvet lined interior, above a single mahogany lined frieze drawer, the curvilinear body mounted on each corner with a winged espagnolette terminating in a hairy paw foot. A French Restauration period ormolu & cut glass table/toilet mirror. The figure of Fortuna holding a cornucopia in one hand, a wreath in the other, supporting a circular double sided swing mirror, retaining the concave & flat glass to each side. The circular cut glass base with a finely cast bead and anthemion ormolu rim.

Antique Ormolu Winged Victory Candelabra Empire Style

A fine quality 19th century, French, ormolu five light candelabra in the Empire style. The figure of winged victory holding an olive branch in her left hand, the other raising aloft a laurel wreath issuing five candle sconces, standing on a globe with a stepped square plinth base. The plinth fronted with a muse her outstretched arms holding a Dove & Butterfly.

Antique Ormolu Candlestick Lamp after J D Dugourc

After Jean-Demosthène Dugourc (1749-1825)
A fine quality late 19th century, French, ormolu candlestick lamp. The gadrooned lion-mask sconce above a stem of floral draped female terms, on acanthus foliate-wrapped circular spreading base with bead border. Fine original gilding. Rewired.
With their triple female caryatid shaft swagged with floral garlands, laurel collar and domed, acanthus-cast plinth, these candlesticks are based on a design attributed to Jean-Demosthène Dugourc (1749-1825) in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.

Antique French Ormolu Mounted Porcelain Ewers

A fine pair of 19th century, French ormolu mounted continental porcelain ewers. The lobed bodies painted with alternating cartouches of courting couples and floral sprays, mounted in ormolu with scroll handle incorporating a winged cherub, a bronze mask to the spout interior, and standing on a circular stepped pierced base with flared socle. Regilded. Porcelain with no damage or restoration.

A Charles X, French, ormolu, bronze & Griotte Rouge marble mantel clock and garniture. The gilt urn surmount above a marble case with stepped plinth and pediment, the front with laurel wreath motifs surrounding a Greek key bezel. The side bronze tazzas with gilt handles and stepped marble plinths.
The dial with painted Roman chapters, the eight day twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel striking on a bell.

A fine & impressive French gilt & patinated bronze clock in the Louis XVI style after the 18th century form by Robert Osmond. The bronze vase-shaped case in the ‘goût Grec’ manner, flanked by satyr masks with entwined horns, the front and sides hung with swags of garrya, the flared socle on a stepped white marble base. The enamel dial signed ‘Raingo Fres A Paris’, with twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike to bell, the backplate numbered ‘1619’. Stamped ‘H.Picard’ and stencilled ‘Mercier Ainé’.

A late 19th century, French, cut brass inlaid red tortoiseshell mantel clock in the Louis XV style. The red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a floral urn, the sunburst pendulum visible through the glazed panel, the bevelled glass front opening to gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets. The eight day movement, numbered 45279, rack striking the hour & half hour on a gong. The whole dressed with bronze mounts. Back plate & pendulum marked ‘A&N 45279 Paris’.
