Antique French Boulle Mantel Clock

A late 19th century, French, cut brass inlaid red tortoiseshell mantel clock in the Louis XIV style, of small size. The tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a fruit filled vase, the gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets, with the eight day movement, numbered 3095, rack striking the hour & half hour on a gong. The whole dressed with re-gilded bronze mounts.

Antique Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze & Marble Mantel Clock by Henri Picard Retailed by Marshall

Henri Picard (1831-1890)

A Napoleon III, French, gilt bronze & carrera marble mantle clock by Henri Picard and retailed by Marshall & Fils Paris. The white enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and eight day movement, Brocot suspension with outside countwheel striking the hour & half hour on a bell. The Louis XVI style case with a pair of bronze patinated putti, allegories of astronomy, surmounted by an urn above a steeped plinth base mounted with finely chased gilt bronze. The case signed ‘H Picard’.

Antique French Empire Bronze & Ormolu Mantel Clock

An early 19th century, French Empire, patinated bronze and ormolu mounted mantel clock. The bronze case with gadrooned urn finial above a foliate cast bezel, the frieze below with scrolling acanthus mount and stepped base. The engine turned dial painted with Roman numerals, steel moon hands with an eight day movement, silk suspension, outside countwheel striking the hour & half hour on a bell.
