A very fine pair of French, late 19th century, ormolu table lamps in the early Louis XV style. The single sconce above a stem cast with acanthus leaves standing on a spreading stepped base with scroll and shell border. Finely cast and chased with the original matt & burnished gilding. Rewired.

Antique Louis XVI Ormolu & Marble Candelabra

A fine pair of bronze, ormolu & marble, mid 19th century French candelabra in the Louis XVI style. The patinated bronze putti seated cross legged on a naturalistic base, each supporting a pair of ormolu candle arms. The circular griotte stepped marble plinth bases with ormolu acanthus and bead cast mounts. Superb original matt & burnished gilding and patination. Discreetly drilled for electricity.

A late 19th century, French, kingwood and marquetry table de toilette after the model by Jean-François Oeben held in the V&A collection. The shaped top with central  floral marquetry panel with parquetry border sliding back above a frieze drawer fitted with easel mirror and side compartments lined with silk, supported by four slender cabriole legs ending in gilt bronze sabots.

Antique French Gilt Bronze & Marble Louis XV Style Aiguières Lamps Attributed to Paul Sormani

A fine pair of late 19th century French Louis XV style gilt bronze mounted verde marmo aiguières, later converted for table lamps. Each elongated reeded turned marble body mounted with finely cast and chased acanthus leaf and bulrush rims, looped handle and foot in the Louis XV rococo style. The mounts retaining their original matt and burnished gilding.

These Vases can be attributed to Paul-Charles Sormani. For a similar pair stamped ‘PS’ see Sotheby’s Lot 34 & Lot 35 Property from a distinguished Private Asian Collector.

These ewers are closely related to a pair of Louis XV gilt bronze mounted lacquer vases, by Jean-Claude Duplessis (1699-1774) housed in the Wallace Collection.

A fine French ormolu & marble clock garniture in the Louis XVI style from the late 19th century. Venus is depicted lifting the hem of her skirt, her head tilted back as cupid caresses her face, another cupid looks on from the side. The ormolu frieze mount in bold relief depicts cupids playing. The pair of candelabra with a figure of cupid holding aloft three sconces in the form of flowering stems, raised on marble plinths.The Samuel Marti eight day twin train movement rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell, No 629.

The red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a floral urn, the sunburst pendulum visible through the glazed panel, the bevelled glass front opening to gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets. Blaise Millet active 1853-1918
A fine, Belle Epoque, gilt bronze and Carrara marble encrier in the Louis XVI style. The seated figure of a putti with arms outstretched holding aloft a candle sconce in each hand, flanked by a pair of inkwells, containing sand sifter and a glass inkwell, with a central ormolu dish tray. The rectangular base with concave corners, mounted with inset guilloche friezes, standing on beaded toupie feet. Retaining the original gilding with some wear and staining to the marble as to be expected.
