An impressive French Restauration period gilt & patinated bronze timepiece. The bronze case surmounted with an urn and dressed with finely cast & chased mercury gilded swags, cornucopia & rosettes. The silvered dial with engine turned radial centre & Roman numerals to the chapter ring, and eight day movement with silk suspension. Movement & case numbered 3802.

A fine late 19th century mahogany & ormolu mounted table display vitrine in the Louis XVI style. The rectangular bevelled glazed top opening to a relined silk interior, the four friezes mounted with floral swags and centred by a basket of flowers, standing on four turned tapering fluted legs ending in toupie feet.

A pair of early 20th century, French, ormolu mounted marble topped purpleheart & satiné bedside cabinets in the Louis XVI style. The rectangular verde marble tops with a moulded edge, above a single frieze drawer with marble lined cupboard under, the front and sides quarter veneered, standing on four turned tapering fluted legs ending in sabots.

Louis XV Style Kingwood Alabastro Ciliegino Topped Table Ambulante by Francois Linke

Francois Linke (1855-1946)

A late 19th century, French, mahogany and gilt bronze mounted table ambulante. The circular alabastro ciliegino top inset gilt bronze frame, above a parquetry inlaid frieze centred by female masks, with single mahogany lined drawer, supported by four slender cabriole legs ending in sabots. The legs united by upswept stretcher with finial. Original mercuric gilding. Signed F. Linke to top rim.

Antique George IV Rosewood Library Table by Gillows

GILLOWS
A George IV rosewood Library Table firmly attributed to Gillows. The well figured rectangular top with rounded corners and gadrooned edge, above a narrow frieze with a split bead moulding, the front concealing two mahogany lined drawers. The turned end supports with reeded and fluted decoration on plinth bases ending in turned reeded bun feet concealing heavy brass castors.

The arched cornice above a narrow frieze with a pair of glazed doors below enclosing a relined interior with shelves and glazed sides, standing on a rectangular base with a frieze drawer supported by four turned fluted legs to a platform stretcher and toupie feet.

A late 19th century Sheraton style purpleheart strung satinwood cylinder front bureau. The rectangular top with a three quarter brass gallery above an open shelf flanked by tapering turned columns, the cylinder front below opening to a fitted interior above two small frieze drawers and concave cupboard under, standing on fluted turned legs with brass caps & castors. The back fully finished. Stamped numerous times.

Antique Edwardian Mahogany & Marquetry Inlaid Bijouterie Cabinet

An Edwardian mahogany, satinwood banded & floral inlaid bijouterie cabinet of fine quality, and large proportions. Of rectangular form with serpentine shaped sides, the bevelled glazed top with inlaid borders above four glazed sides, a door to the front enclosing a single adjustable shelf, standing on four turned acanthus carved and reeded supports united by a wavy stretcher. Excellent condition.

The arched top inlaid with starburst, a platform pediment above flanked by four turned brass finials, and a single astragal glazed door below enclosing a relined shelved interior with a single concave frieze drawer below. The rectangular base with a central deep drawer, flanked by a pair of cupboards, and standing on square section tapering legs.

‘Loves fickle nature’
A fine French ormolu & marble clock garniture in the Louis XVI style from the late 19th century. Venus is depicted lifting the hem of her skirt, her head tilted back as cupid caresses her face, another cupid looks on from the side. The ormolu frieze mount in bold relief depicts cupids playing. The pair of candelabra with a figure of cupid holding aloft three sconces in the form of flowering stems, raised on marble plinths.The Samuel Marti eight day twin train movement rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell, No 629.
