Antique French Clock Louis XVI Style after Robert Osmond

A fine & impressive French gilt & patinated bronze clock in the Louis XVI style after the 18th century form by Robert Osmond. The bronze vase-shaped case in the ‘goût Grec’ manner, flanked by satyr masks with entwined horns, the front and sides hung with swags of garrya, the flared socle on a stepped white marble base. The enamel dial signed ‘Raingo Fres A Paris’, with twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike to bell, the backplate numbered ‘1619’. Stamped ‘H.Picard’ and stencilled ‘Mercier Ainé’.

Antique Maples & Co Mahogany Marquetry Inlaid Bookcase

A late 19th century mahogany and marquetry inlaid bookcase cabinet. The pierced swan neck pediment above a moulded cornice with Greek key frieze inlaid with anthemions, a pair of astragal glazed doors below enclosing adjustable shelves, flanked by fluted canted corners. The base with a pair of urn inlaid doors enclosing a single adjustable shelf, again with fluted canted corners, standing on shaped plinth base with bracket feet. The door with enamel plaque ‘From Maples & Co London’.

Antique Louis XVI Style French Ormolu & Onyx Cassolettes

A pair of early 20th century, French, ormolu mounted onyx cassolettes in the Louis XVI style. The domed tops with finials inverting to a single acanthus cast candle sconce, above an ovoid body with vitruvian scroll border and triform supports headed by rams heads and terminating in hoof feet, standing on circular plinth base with central rosette and three disc feet. Some wear to the original gilding.

The rectangular glazed top with inlaid scrolling border & rosewood cross banding, opening to reveal a relined interior, with glazed sides, standing on four square section tapering legs ending in brass caps and castors. The legs headed by inlaid urns with Garry husk drops below, the whole with fine ebony & boxwood stringing. Fine condition. Retaining part of label for ‘Edwards & Roberts’.

The rectangular quarter veneered top with serpentine sides, inlaid with a tulipwood cross banding and scroll marquetry panels, above a single short frieze drawer, lined in mahogany, standing on four finely drawn cabriole legs ending in sabots and original brass castors. Mounts stamped ‘IR’ to the reverse.

A late 19th century, French, mahogany and gilt bronze mounted table ambulante. The circular alabastro ciliegino top inset gilt bronze frame, above a parquetry inlaid frieze centred by female masks, with single mahogany lined drawer, supported by four slender cabriole legs ending in sabots. The legs united by upswept stretcher with finial. Original mercuric gilding. Signed F. Linke to top rim.

The well figured rectangular top with rounded corners and gadrooned edge, above a narrow frieze with a split bead moulding, the front concealing two mahogany lined drawers. The turned end supports with reeded and fluted decoration on plinth bases ending in turned reeded bun feet concealing heavy brass castors.

The back fully finished. Stamped numerous times.
