A pair of mid 19th century, English, gilt bronze cassolettes of small proportions. The removable top, inverting to a candle holder, above an urn with rams heads flanking a garrya swag supported by a fluted column with stepped platform base and ball feet. Regilded.

Henri Picard (1831-1890)

A Napoleon III, French, gilt bronze & carrera marble mantle clock by Henri Picard and retailed by Marshall & Fils Paris. The white enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and eight day movement, Brocot suspension with outside countwheel striking the hour & half hour on a bell. The Louis XVI style case with a pair of bronze patinated putti, allegories of astronomy, surmounted by an urn above a steeped plinth base mounted with finely chased gilt bronze. The case signed ‘H Picard’.

Antique Small French ‘Regence’ Style Rosewood & Ormolu Mounted Commode Chest

A late 19th century, French Regence style rosewood, tulipwood crossbanded and ormolu mounted four drawer commode of small size. The original shaped marmo di Brescia marble top with moulded edge above four graduated oak lined drawers, with heavy leafy cast brass handles, flanked by brass fluted rounded corners and book veneered sides. The locks stamped ‘V.F’ for Vachette Freres, they first used this stamp in 1874.

The patinated globe studded with small gilt stars and roman numerals, supported by three cherubs standing on a turned fluted marble column, hung with floral swags, with shaped base and toupie feet. The eight day Vincenti movement with platform escapement, striking the hour & half hour on a bell, numbered 524. The two side pieces of the same design.

A late 19th century, French, walnut, kingwood crossbanded and gilt bronze mounted table ambulante. The oval grey marble top above a scrolling frieze of gilt bronze flowers, with a single oak lined drawer below enclosing the original silk lining to base, supported by four slender cabriole legs united by curved stretchers with finial.
