Antique Pair of Louis XVI Style French Marble & Ormolu Cassolettes

A pair of late 19th century, French, gilt bronze & rouge tarquin marble cassolettes in the Louis XVI style. The domed top with pinatum finial inverting to a candle sconce, above a marble body hung with floral garlands and with three supports headed by bacchic masks ending with hoof feet, standing on a circular plinth base.

Antique Belle Epoque Mahogany & Ormolu Louis XVI Style Vitrine

A fine quality Belle Epoque period mahogany & ormolu mounted vitrine of Louis XVI inspiration. The replaced calacatta risotto marble top above a bevelled glazed breakfront cabinet, the central door opening to a glass shelved interior with mirrored back, the frieze mounted with acanthus scrolls and centred with a bacchic mask, supported by six turned fluted legs ending in toupee feet and mounted with garrya husk drops. Mounts regilded.

The serpentine shaped top with central bevelled glazed panel, above four serpentine glazed sides, the front opening with a pair of doors to a relined interior with single glass shelf, standing on four cabriole legs ending in gilt sabots. Original gilding to mounts.

A fine set of four late 19th century ormolu three branch wall lights in the Louis XVI style. The three candle arms issuing from a backplate with an urn full of fruit, below a flowing ribbon tied in a bow, the base with acanthus leaf decoration and berried base. Retaining the original ormolu finish, now drilled for electricity.

French Louis XV Style Boulle Clock

A late 19th century, French, cut brass inlaid red tortoiseshell mantel clock in the Louis XV style. The red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a floral urn, the sunburst pendulum visible through the glazed panel, the bevelled glass front opening to gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets. The eight day movement, numbered 45279, rack striking the hour & half hour on a gong. The whole dressed with bronze mounts. Back plate & pendulum marked ‘A&N 45279 Paris’.

Antique Grand Tour Bronze Augustus Caesar

A late 19th century Italian bronze figure of Augustus Caesar, standing and rotating on a turned marble socle base. The figure is modelled after the Antique discovered in 1863 in Prima Porta, Rome.

Augustus was the adopted son of Julius Caesar. He became emperor in 27 BC. This statue represents the Emperor in armour, with a cupid on his right side sitting on a dolphin. On his breastplate is represented the historical scene of the restitution of an emblem lost by Crassus in 54 BC, at the Battle of Carrhae. This emblem was subsequently placed in the temple of Mars the Avenger in the Forum of Augustus.

Antique Pair of Japanese Enamel Vases Table Lamps

A large pair of late 19th century Japanese cloisonné enamel & ormolu mounted oil lamp vases now converted to table lamps. The body decorated with ho-ho birds amongst autumnal foliage, flanked by ormolu dragon handles, the upper shoulders with a dark ground depicting shish dogs playing amongst lotus. The top and base mounted with ormolu. Regilded. Professional rewired.

A fine pair of Napoleon III ormolu mounted Sevres style porcelain ewers. The turquoise pear shaped bodies painted to the front and reverse with courting couples in gilded cartouches, mounted with finely cast and chased gilt bronze in the form of ewers, with winged dragon handles and circular plinth bases. Retaining the original gilding, and in excellent condition.

Each finely enamelled with alternative panels of interior court scenes and exotic birds/butterflies. Fine Pair of Ormolu & Onyx Albani Vases by Georges Servant

A pair of mid 19th century, continental, gilt bronze Albani vases after the antique. Each with bead moulded rim above a leafy edge with eight busts surrounding the waisted frieze, flanked by a pair of reeded twisted handles, standing on a flared fluted socle with onyx stepped plinth and gilt paw feet. Original gilding. Stamped to each plinth ‘GS’ either side of a bee & star. The original antique marble vase was at the Villa Albani.

A late 19th century, french, carrera marble and gilt bronze mounted mantel clock. The patinated bronze figure of Cupid arming, his quivers at his feet, standing above a circular enamelled dial painted with arabic numerals and floral swags, inset a fluted case hung with floral swags and standing on a marble plinth with toupie feet. The eight day movement with brocot suspension, striking the hour and half hour on a bell. Pendulum and movement numbered 1911.
