Satinwood Inlaid Display Cabinet

A fine late 19th century, Victorian, satinwood and marquetry inlaid display cabinet. The polished top with breakfront, above a single concealed frieze drawer inlaid with central panel of cherub. The bevelled glazed door with marquetry panel to base, enclosing a relined interior with adjustable shelves, and flanked by bowed glazed sides, the stiles with floral inlaid panels, standing on four square section tapering legs ending in spade feet.

Pair of Bronze Soldiers

A pair of late 19th century, French, patinated bronze figures of soldiers. The well cast and chased figures, one standing holding a rifle at his side, the other priming his rifle, both standing on a naturalistic base with turned black marble socle. Original patination to each.

Napoleon III Boulle Clock

Vincenti et Cie Rollin a Paris

A Napoleon III brass inlaid tortoiseshell and ormolu mounted Boulle clock in the Louis XV style. The shaped case surmounted by a seated cherub, above waisted sides finely inlaid with scrolling cut brass and centred by a mask mount, the front with glazed panel showing the inlaid interior and pendulum. The eight day Vincent & Cie movement with Brocot suspension and striking the hour & half hour on a bell with outside countwheel. Movement and pendulum numbered 1142.

Regency Style Overmantel

A late 19th century, Victorian, giltwood and gesso overmantel. The moulded cornice with canon ball decoration, above an acanthus frieze, with the original bevelled triple plates inset ebonised reeded fillets below, flanked by cluster columns. The gilding in good condition.

Gilt Cushion Mirror

A mid 19th century, Napoleon III, giltwood and gesso cushion mirror. The shell and scrolling leaf pediment flanked by eagle moulded corners, above central mercury silvered, bevelled, rectangular plate inset bead moulded filet surrounded by four further plates. The frame with moulded border and acanthus scroll base.

Regency Rosewood Chiffonier

A George IV rosewood chiffonier of small proportions. The rectangular upper tier supported by turned pillars, with three quarter gallery, above a mirrored back. The base with a pair of panelled cupboard doors enclosing adjustable shelves, flanked by slim panels with bead mouldings and headed by roundels, standing on turned feet. Good original patination.

Regency Rosewood Sofa Table

Attributed to Gillows

A George IV rosewood sofa table. The rectangular top with twin drop flap ends, above a pair of mahogany lined frieze drawers, dummy en verso, with replaced brass pulls. The top supported by trestle ends with splay legs ending in cast brass caps and castors. The well figured top, veneered from side to side, a technique Gillows used on their sofa tables.

The serpentine shaped top with bevelled glazed centre surrounded by entwined ribbon and leaf marquetry, opening to reveal a relined interior with shaped glazed sides, and standing on four turned legs inlaid to simulate fluting, and united by a wavy stretcher.

Gilt Bronze & Porcelain Cassolettes

A pair of late 19th century, french, porcelain and gilt bronze mounted cassolettes. Each with a pinatum finial above blue porcelain dome inverting to reveal a gilt candle sconce, supported by triform legs with rams head masks and hoof feet, hung with chains and standing on a stepped circular base with bead decoration. The porcelain body painted with panels of flowers and pink ribbons.  Original gilt.

‘The Uffizi Faun’ Bronze Dancing Faun

A large Italian patinated bronze figure of the ‘Uffizi’ dancing faun, from the 19th century. The figure standing on an oval base, holding cymbala in his hands, and wears a kroupezion attached to his sandal. Good original patination. Indistinct signature to base of tree trunk.

Louis XV Style Palisander Vitrine

A late 19th century, French, Louis XV style palisander & gilt bronze mounted vitrine. The serpentine shaped top with three quarter gallery, above a scrolling foliate mounted concave frieze with a pair of serpentine glazed doors below, enclosing a glass shelved interior with mirrored back, the sides with curved glass, standing on cabriole legs with shaped stretcher and mirror panelled back. Fine quality oak and mahogany carcass, with well chased and finished bronze mounts. Mounts regilded. The mirror stamped ‘1890’ to the reverse.

Continental Marquetry & kingwood Jardiniere

A Napoleon III, Continental kingwood gilt metal and marquetry jardiniere. The shaped lid with gilt metal gallery, lifting to reveal the original metal liner, above a serpentine shaped body with inlaid floral panels, supported by four curved square section legs united by a shaped platform stretcher with similar inlay. The whole mounted with ormolu. Label to underside of top, indistinctly marked Bruxelles.

The reversible tops with acorn finials and gilt sconce to the inside, above an ovoid body with tripod supports headed by rams masks and hung with floral swags, standing on stepped circular bases with toupie feet.
