George V Walnut ‘Grandmother’ Clock

A George V walnut ‘Grandmother’ clock. The square hood with shaped glazed door flanked by barley twist columns, mounted with ormolu, above a finely figured case with walnut cross banding to each panel. The door with carved central roundel, and standing on a plinth base. The four pillar eight day twin train movement striking the hour & half hour on a gong. The engraved brass dial with silvered chapter ring, strike/silent dial to top and subsidiary seconds dial, the four corners with cherub spandrels.

Maples & Co

A late 19th century, Victorian, satinwood serpentine fronted display cabinet, inlaid with narrow kingwood crossbandings throughout. The moulded cornice above a slim frieze inlaid with trellis pattern, the curved glazed  centre door enclosing a relined interior with glass shelves, flanked by glazed sides, above a single cupboard door. The six square section tapering legs ending in spade feet.

Of bowed form, the solid mahogany top with arched fan inlaid pediment, above a frieze inlaid with leafy swags and a single bowed glazed door opening to a relined interior with glass shelves, the sides with bowed glazing. The base with three floral inlaid panels and standing on square section legs ending in spade feet.

Of flared urn shape the rims with gilt leaf mounded border, above twin lion mask handles and fluted socles, standing on square stepped plinth bases, centred with a gilt basket of flowers. Original green patination to bronze and mercury gilding.

A Napoleon III red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid mantel clock, in the Louis XV style. The shaped case of waisted form with all over scrolling brass inlay and ormolu mounts. The top surmounted with a vase of flowers, above a circular dial with enamel roman numeral tablets, and glazed visible starburst pendulum. The eight day movement with Brocot suspension, striking the hour & half hour on a bell. Movement & pendulum numbered 47131, A & N.

The serpentine shaped rising top with bevelled glazed panel, kingwood border and gilt bronze edge, opening to a relined silk interior with four serpentine glazed sides. The base with four cabriole legs ending in gilt sabots.

A late 19th century, French, marble, gilt and patinated bronze globe clock garniture. The patinated globe studded with small gilt stars and roman numerals, supported by three cherubs standing on a turned fluted marble column, hung with floral swags, with shaped base and toupie feet. The eight day Vincenti movement with platform escapement, striking the hour & half hour on a bell, numbered 524. The two side pieces of the same design.

A pair of French bronze figure from the second half of the 19th century. Each well cast seated figure dressed in classical robes, Pandora with box clasped in her hand, Psyche deep in thought, on stepped shaped bases. Original patination. Signed A Schoenewerk Sc to sides, with titles to front.
