Depicting Romulus & Titus Tatius
A pair of late 19th century, Italian, gilt bronze warriors in the Grand Tour style. Each figure standing in fighting pose, a shield on one arm, bearing a sword & spear respectively in the opposite hand, standing on a rectangular verde marble plinth with gilded platform base. Finely cast with chased detail, the shield with a Medusa head.

Antique Derbyshire Specimen Marble Paperweight

A mid 19th century Derbyshire Ashford black limestone paperweight inlaid with various marbles, including malachite, Dukes red and various Derbyshire & Devon corals. The geometric banding centred with a flowering jasmine. Of rectangular form. Excellent condition, some very minor chips to bottom edge as to be expected.

Antique French Louis XVI Style Ormolu Encrier by Blaise Millet

Blaise Millet active 1853-1918
A fine, Belle Epoque, gilt bronze and Carrara marble encrier in the Louis XVI style. The seated figure of a putti with arms outstretched holding aloft a candle sconce in each hand, flanked by a pair of inkwells, containing sand sifter and a glass inkwell, with a central ormolu dish tray. The rectangular base with concave corners, mounted with inset guilloche friezes, standing on beaded toupie feet. Retaining the original gilding with some wear and staining to the marble as to be expected.

Antique 19th Century Walnut Side Table

A mid 19th century walnut side table of unusual form. The lift out circular top radially veneered in flame walnut, above a carved rim, supported by a triform base of moulded scroll supports finely carved with acanthus leaves and scrolls, united by a circular dish platform, standing on turned carved bun feet with concealed castors.

Antique French Mantel Clock by Eugene Hazart after Brecourt

Eugene Hazart (1838-1891, Paris). Etienne Maxant. J. Lefebvre Fils

A late 19th century, French, Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted carrera marble mantel clock, the case signed Eug Hazart. The ovoid body flanked by dolphins surrounded by reed & oak leafs with a fountain to the top, the waisted socle beneath standing on a stepped square plinth. The white enamel dial signed Julien Béliard A Paris, with pierced gilt hands. The twin spring driven barrel movement rack striking the hour/half hour on a bell, back plate numbered ‘18899’, makers stamp of a ship and initials ‘JLF’ & ‘EMS’.

Antique Victorian Ormolu Desk Pen / Taper stick Stand of Boy Fishing

A late Victorian ormolu desk pen/ taper stick stand in the form of a boy fishing. Of small size the young boy standing on rocks in a stream, holding a rod and line with a hooked fish. The reeds to the left with central hole to support a pen or taper stick, a fence to the right to hold matches, with a rough match striker to the reverse. Lovely original patination to the ormolu. The base weighted with lead.

Antique George IV Giltwood & Parcel Painted Stool

A handsome George IV giltwood and parcel painted stool. Of rectangular form, the reupholstered top above inset friezes, the corners carved with fans, supported by four turned and reeded legs ending in brass caps and wooden castors. The castor caps stamped ‘ ♔ B S & P Patent’, the wooden castors are probably a replacement.

A pair of Napoleon III, French, gilt bronze candlesticks. The kneeling figures of a winged cherub each holding a single sconce, retaining drip pans, supported by a beaded circular plinth base with dark blue enamelled border, the scroll feet hung with gilt chains. Original matt & burnished gilding.

Antique French Mantel Timepiece Depicting Napoleon

A patinated bronze and ormolu mounted timepiece from the first half of the 19th century. The figure of Napoleon astride his favoured mount Marengo, above castle remains and rocky base, the silvered dial with Roman numerals inset a patinated case with ormolu decoration. The eight day movement with silk suspension by Thomas Cox Savory ‘A Paris’ No 10524. Mounts regilded.
