Aeneas saving Anchises from Troy after Pierre Lepautre.

A late 19th century bronze group of Aeneas fleeing Troy, carrying his father Anchises over his shoulder with his son, Ascanius, at his side. Anchises is holding the statutes of the household gods of Troy, Lares and Penates. Supported by the original rouge marble plinth and with golden brown patination.

A Regency rosewood games table. The shaped top with central square sliding reversible chessboard, concealing a backgammon inlaid interior, and flanked by oval sides swivel opening to velvet lined interiors. The base with trestle ends united by a turned stretcher and standing on sledge bases with turned feet and concealed brass castors.

Antique French Oval Table in the style of Topino

A late 19th century tulipwood, harewood & marquetry inlaid ormolu mounted French side table in the Transitional style after Charles Topino. The oval top inlaid with a basket of flowers, above a single frieze drawer and standing on four slender cabriole legs ending in sabots, united by an oval undertaker inlaid with musical instruments. Mounts regilded.

Maples & Co

An Edwardian mahogany and boxwood line inlaid display cabinet.  The mounded concave cornice above a pair of central double inverted bowed glazed doors, enclosing a relined interior, flanked by further astragal glazed sides. The base with bowed front and long frieze drawer flanked by short drawers and standing on six turned and acanthus carved legs united by a platform stretcher, ending in brass feet. Retaining the original cast brass ring pulls to the drawers.

A late 19th century solid rosewood Sutherland table, possibly by Gillows. The rectangular top with twin drop flaps above a small frieze drawer, and supported by eight turned reeded legs united by shaped flat stretchers. A similar oak Sutherland table has been recorded stamped Gillows.

Antique F. Barbedienne Bronze ‘Amazone’ Late 19th Century

Ferdinand Barbedienne

A French late 19th century bronze figure ‘Amazone’ cast by Barbedienne. The warrior standing with one arm raised above her head holding a broken handle, a helmet at her feet. The base with signature and bronze seal, with original dark brown patination and ink inscriptions to underside.

The original antique marble is housed in the Museum Pio Clementino Rome. Barbedienne produced this bronze in 5 different sizes, this being ‘La réduction aux 4 onzièmes’.

Antique French Gilt Bronze & Marble Lyre Clock Louis XVI Style

A late 19th century, french, gilt bronze and marble lyre clock. The circular enamel dial painted with floral swags and with grid iron knife edge pendulum set with paste bezel, below an apollo sun burst and floral  mounted marble lyre. The eight day movement, rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell. Movement and pendulum stamped . Dial signed ‘Causard horologer du Roy A Paris’.

A ‘Grand Tour’ bronze from the second half of the 19th century of ‘The Dying Gaul’, after the antique. The slumped figure with broken sword to his side, on an integral oval base. Original dark brown patination. Signed to base ‘F.Barbedienne Fondeur’ & with ‘Reduction Mechanique’ seal. The underside with typical ink inscription. Reduction size number 2, fr190.

A George III mahogany chest on chest of small proportions. The moulded cornice with a narrow flame veneered frieze above two short and six long graduated drawers, standing on shaped bracket feet. The solid mahogany drawer fronts, with oak linings, retaining their original swan neck handles with traces of original gilding.
