A pair of mid Victorian marquetry inlaid armchairs possibly by Jackson & Graham. Of the finest quality the frames inlaid with trailing leaves cut from woods including amboyna, purpleheart, snakewood and ebony. The reupholstered back with marquetry border above a sprung seat flanked by downs wept acanthus inlaid arms, supported by four turned and fluted legs headed by circular paterae.
The seat rails with pencil inscriptions ‘GHJ’. The back rails with four pins possibly where a trade label once was placed.

A late 19th century Kingwood Guéridon by Francois Linke. The circular top with parquetry inlay above three slender cabriole legs united by un undertaker. The whole with fine cast and chased gilt bronze mounts retaining the original mercury gilding.

This pair of Empire period candelabra was designed by Pierre-Philippe Thomire and cast by Pierre Chibout
A fine pair of early 19th century, French Empire, patinated & fire gilt bronze candelabra. The finely cast and chased winged figures of Victory dressed in diaphanous robes, standing on tiptoe with arms outstretched holding floral cast candle sconces, a single sconce supported on the head. The base with gilt orb supported by a bronze reeded column with acanthus cast details and square plinth base. Formerly drilled for electricity. Retaining the original mercury gilding and dark patination. Cast signature to interior mounts ‘Chibout’ & ‘Chi”.
The Chibout family of bronziers are recorded as working in paris in the first half of the 19th century. Pierre Chibout worked in Paris between 1806-1824 and worked together with Claude Francois Rabiat, taking over his Parisian workshop in 1815.
An identical pair of candelabra was delivered to the Garde-Meuble by “Thomire Duterme”. It was destined for the living room of the apartment of the Count of Nantouillet at the Elysée Palace.

A late Victorian mahogany and marquetry inlaid bijouterie table by Edwards & Roberts. The rectangular bevelled glazed top with leafy inlaid border opening to the original velvet lined interior, above four panelled sides each inlaid with scrolling acanthus and wide rosewood cross banding. The four square tapering legs each headed by an inlaid urn with trailing garrya below and ending in brass caps and castors. Stamped to the interior ‘Edwards & Roberts’.

A mid Victorian figured walnut & yew wood banded side cabinet, mounted with finely chased gilt bronze and porcelain panels, retaining a fine mellow colour. The rectangular top above a narrow frieze with central plaque, the two panelled doors below enclosing a relined shelved interior, standing on a shaped plinth base. The whole mounted with chased gilt bronze and thirteen porcelain panels finely painted with putti & flowers.

A late 19th century red tortoiseshell and engraved brass inlaid clock in the Louis XV style. Of small waisted form, the case finely inlaid to all four sides and with original gilt bronze mounts. The eight day Delettrez movement rack striking the hour and half hour on a bell with Brocot suspension. The gilt dial with enamel cartouche roman numerals. Movement stamped JBD and numbered 33044. The rubbed dial signed Chas Frodsham.

An unusual early 19th century, George IV, albuerra wood library cabinet. The rectangular top with three quarter carved gallery above a single cedar lined frieze drawer, now with later brass pulls, with a panelled door below enclosing two shelves, standing on carved turned feet with concealed castors. The front, back and sides panelled with quadrant reel mouldings enabling the piece to be freestanding.

A pair of Regency gilt and patinated bronze candlesticks. The flame finial inset a single sconce supported by a baluster stem with acanthus leaf decoration, the circular stepped bases with four hairy paw feet. Later engraved inscription to bases ‘Mrs Rupert Clutterbuck From Coldstream Guards 1939-1946′. One finial replaced.

A Pair of Continental, probably Italian, patinated bronze & parcel gilt figures of Mars & Minerva from the middle of the 19th century. Minerva seated with spear in right hand, shield in left, a rams fleece at her feet and an owl resting upon her head. Mars seated looking to sinister, resting his right hand on a gilt sword with plumed helmet. Both with stepped Belgian black marble bases.
