A large pair of Charles X patinated bronze, sand cast, six light candelabra. The scrolling branches around a centre sconce, supported by a reeded tapering column on triform base with paw feet, standing on stepped plinth base. Superb quality casting & chasing. Original dark brown patination.

A late 19th century, French, mahogany & gilt bronze mounted vitrine on stand in the Louis XVI style, by Lampre. The carrera marble top with pierced gallery, above a glazed vitrine with central door, mirrored back and bowed sides, the open base with a frieze drawer, standing on short cabriole legs. Mounts regilded. Brand to back ‘Lampre Fg St Honore 72 Paris’

Re patinated.

Antique 19th Century English Pair of Pastille Burners

A pair of patinated bronze pastille burners from the second quarter of the 19th century, of diminutive size. The removable pierced lids lifting to reveal a blue glass liner with central well to burn pastilles. The urn shaped body with reeded base & twin handles above a triform base of clawed animal legs with plinth base. The bun feet replaced.

An Antique French Pate-Sur-Pate Porcelain Lamp

A late 19th century, French, ormolu mounted celadon ground pâte-sur-pâte lamp. The bottle shaped base decorated with a wide band of flowers, flanked by ormolu handles and a standing on a stepped plinth base. Sympathetically converted from an oil lamp and professionally rewired.

Victorian Patinated Bronze Lamp Egyptian Revival Cleopatra’s Needle

An unusual patinated bronze lamp base of Cleopatra’s Needle, now converted to electricity. This commemorates the bringing of the Egyptian obelisk, inaccurately but commonly called Cleopatra’s Needle, from Alexandria to London, where it was placed on the Thames Embankment in 1878.

Antique Bronze ‘L’Amour au Paillon’ after Antoine-Denis-Chaudet

After Antoine-Denis Chaudet (1763-1810)

A Napoleon III bronze figure L’Amour au Papillon. The finely cast figure of a kneeling Cupid holding the wings of a butterfly, representing Cupid capturing Psyche, standing on a rouge marble plinth.

Cast after the marble L’Amour, which is included in the collection of the Louvre Museum, Paris. At the Salon of 1802, Chaudet presented a plaster model of L’Amour to great acclaim. Unfortunately, the artist died before it was realised in marble. Seven years after his death, his friend Pierre Cartellier (French, 1757-1831) completed the work in marble, which was shown at the Salon of 1817. Louis XVIII acquired L’Amour for the State and exhibited it at Versailles, where it resided until it was transferred to the Louvre.

Antique French Napoleon III Gilt Bronze Mounted Boulle Clock in the Louis XIV Style

A Napoleon III cut brass inlaid red tortoiseshell mantel clock in the Louis XIV style. The red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a seated putti, the sunburst pendulum visible through the glazed door opening to gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets, the inside of the rear door & floor finely inlaid. The eight day movement, numbered 2074, rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell. The whole dressed with re-gilded bronze mounts. Circular ‘Japy Freres 1849’ seal to movement.
