A late 19th century, French, Transitional tulipwood side table of the finest quality, after a model by Topino. Of oval form, the marquetry inlaid top with pierced gilt metal gallery, above a single oak lined drawer, each frieze inlaid with garlands. The four elongated cabriole legs, headed by finely chased and gilded bearded satyrs, above a narrow leafy inlaid panel and ending in gilt sabots. The lower tier and top inlaid with scrolling carnation flowers. The mask mounts with incised ‘ZJ’ from the master moulds.
