Antique 19th Century French Bronze of Paolina Borghese

A 19th century bronze sculpture, after the influential Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova (1755-1822), depicting Paolina Borghese, Napoleon’s sister Princess Borghese, reclining as Venus Victrix.

The original was commissioned by Paolina’s husband, the Italian prince Camillo Borghese, following their marriage in 1804, and resides in the Galleria Borghese in Rome.
