An unusual mid 19th century, victorian, amboyna, albuera wood & calamander banded games table. The floral inlaid top with bowed ends and central slide reversing to a chequer board, revealing a lift out backgammon tray, above a slim frieze with turned split beading. The solid albuera wood base with shaped sides, cabriole legs and carved with acanthus scrolls, united by a turned and carved stretcher. The quality and style suggest a strong link to the firmĀ of Gillow’s.
