Description
A late 19th century, French, ormolu mounted mahogany commode in the Louis XVI style. The rectangular top with ormolu moulding, above a frieze decorated with central gilt plaque of crossed quiver of arrows & flaming torch, the pair of panelled doors below mounted with bead mouldings & floral swags, enclosing a mahogany interior with adjustable shelves, supported by turned fluted toupee feet. The top, sides and doors veneered in parquetry panels. The finely cast mounts by Christofle & Cie.
