Grand Tour After The Antique Bronze Group of The Wrestlers

A late 19th century Continental bronze group of the ‘Uffizi Wrestlers’. Depicting the two male wrestlers engaging in the sport Pankration, retaining the dark brown/green patination. The Pancrastinae, a famous Roman marble sculpture after a lost Greek original of the third century BCE. Discovered in 1583 near Porta S. Giovanni, Rome and the purchased by the Medici Family and is now exhibited at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
