A Devonshire specimen marble table top. The square top (probably Ashford marble) inlaid with a central chessboard of alternating specimen & black marbles, surrounded by a strapwork & roundel motif of Serpentine marbles. The original ebonised table base with square section legs untied by turned stretchers.
