A late 19th century, French, patinated bronze ‘Laurent De Medicis’ probably cast by F. Barbedienne, with the A. Collas Reduction Mechanique seal to the reverse. The well cast and chased figure after the renowned Michelangelo sculpture of Lorenzo di Piero de Medici (1492-1519), in the Medici tomb, Florence. The base with inset seal to the reverse. The base with ink numbering, and the original price 250 F. The Barbedienne catalogue index ‘La Reduction nº 7’.
