Antique Edwardian Mahogany & Satinwood Crossbanded Bureau

An Edwardian mahogany & satinwood crossbanded bureau of small proportions. The rectangular top above a pair of small drawers over a cylinder front opening to reveal the original leather lined writing surface and drawers. The base with a single drawer standing on four square section tapering legs ending in brass caps and castors, united by a stretcher. Retaining the original cast brass handles.

Henry Samuel 484, Oxford St, London, (fl.1881 – 1913)
A late 19th century Sheraton style purpleheart strung satinwood cylinder front bureau. The rectangular top with a three quarter brass gallery above an open shelf flanked by tapering turned columns, the cylinder front below opening to a fitted interior above two small frieze drawers and concave cupboard under, standing on fluted turned legs with brass caps & castors. The back fully finished. Stamped numerous times.
