Alexander Chevrie
A late 19th century, French, rosewood and marquetry inlaid centre table with ormolu mounts. The parquetry inlaid serpentine shaped top with floral spandrels, above a single drawer. The shaped frieze with four cabriole legs ending in sabots. Each mount stamped ‘LW’, regilded.

Alexandre Chevrié established himself in 1878 at 11 rue Portefoin then at 7 rue Braque in 1886, where he owned workshops and a storefront shop . He was a manufacturer of art furniture, small style furniture and artistic fantasies. He participates in the Exhibitions of 1878 and 1889, where he won a silver medal. He was four times a jury member, and in 1894, not competing, decorated with the Legion of Honor.
