Description
A fine and unusual set of five, Venetian, gilded bronze Altar candlesticks from the late 18th/early 19th century. The single pricket candle sconce above a stem cast with multiple elements including acanthus, lion masks, swags, winged angels and male caryatids. The tapering square plinth base decorated with cartouches to three sides with the Venetian Lion. Each of these candlesticks comprise over 80 individual castings. Retaining some traces of original gilding.
